SHEBear Press is an independent publishing house for visionary writers who believe in telling their stories their way.

Founded by bestselling authors, Lisa and Rich Lister, we champion a new era of publishing - one where authors hold the creative reins, set their own timelines, and still produce books that can rival anything you’ll find on the shelves of a major bookstore.

I (Lisa) have spent over two decades navigating both traditional publishing and the indie world.
I’ve experienced the magic of working with major publishing houses (and I’ve also felt the frustration of having to wait for approval, compromise on vision, or fit a book into a “mainstream” agenda.)

I believe self-publishing and traditional publishing both have their own pros and cons AND they don’t have to be mutually exclusive. Rich and I do both, because each book that you write and create has its own life, its own purpose, and its own best publishing path.

SHEBear Press is born from our own need to have the freedom to create, publish, and launch books on our own terms. I personally creatively direct, edit and consult, while my partner (and hot Viking husband), also a bestselling author, has spent the last decade mastering the craft of typesetting, cover design, and book production to industry standards. He’s worked with some of the biggest publishing houses, bringing the same level of precision and professionalism to our books. Together, we ensure every project meets the quality, aesthetic, and detail that you’d expect from a major publisher, without sacrificing creative freedom.

Right now, it’s where we publish our books, but it’s also a proving ground: proof that when you pair independence with professional craft, you get something extraordinary.
