Thank you so much for buying Self Source-ery (it means THE world!) you’re now officially invited to the Self Source-ery Soiree.

You’ll get sent your official entry code the week of the party - along with some downloadable treats made with love by me - but then, do the three following things…

1. MARK THE DATE + TIME IN YOUR DIARY + CALENDAR

Sunday 4th December 2022 - 6.00pm GMT

2. DOWNLOAD THE PRE-SOIREE PLAYLIST

I know the 4th Dec might seems like forever away, so in the meantime, why don’t you download this pre-soiree playlist HERE

3. PREP TEA + CHOCOLATE

If this was an in-person soiree, I’d be pouring you all a cup of mugwort tea (sweetened with honey, obvz.) + I’d offer you a selection of chocolate from Rowdy + Fancy.

CHOCOLATE
I discovered this indie artisan chocolate maker during the writing of Self Source-ery. It was during a visit to Hever Castle, home of Anne Boleyn (who, FYI, is deffo one of the Sisters of the Maligned that I speak about in Self Source-ery) + they had R+F chocolate was in the gift shop + I LOVED the packaging (sucker for pretty packaging) + the sweet rose one which I REALLY do NOT want to share with you at the risk of never being able to get my own supply again, became a total staple of my writing process. I’ve spoken to the lovely R+F team + they’ve offered you an across-the-entire-site 10% discount on EVERYTHING in their store to anyone that has pre-ordered Self Source-ery right through til the 4th December 2022. I KNOW.

CLICK HERE + use code SSBOOK10 at the checkout for 10% off through til 4th December 2022.

MUGWORT TEA RECIPE
I’ll start by saying, that personally, Mugwort is not my most favourite tasting tea, but it’s definitely my most favourite medicinal tea, and it’s been my main plant ally in the writing and sharing of Self Source-ery. It was one of my nanna’s absolute favourites, so I invite you to brew a cup of mugwort tea, just as my nanna did.

Mugwort a Venus-ruled herb, is feminine in nature and is used to support us in seeing and visioning our way through the often messy transitions we experience as we move through life. (It’s especially brilliant during the transition between menstruation and menopause.) The herb is used as a nerve tonic and a diuretic, and it’s considered good for the digestion; it’s also a uterine tonic and can be safely taken over long periods of time, except during pregnancy.

During our soiree, we’ll be doing a little mugwort tea ritual together, so before we gather on the call, here’s the invitation:

To make a cup of mugwort tea, take two teaspoons of dried mugwort leaves + and add to boiling water. (I grow my own + dry, chop + store them, but you can buy pre-prepared, dried mugwort ready for tea drinking.)
Let them steep for 10 mins.
Mugwort solo tastes really bitter; yes, that’s part of its medicine, but I always add a spoonful of honey because… well, because the bees KNOW.

NOTE: Take radical self-responsibility when working with herbs and plants PLEASE.
Do your research in terms of contraindications + how herbs may affect you.
Consider this your disclaimer. I’m NOT a medical professional + I am NOT responsible for how herbs respond to your body.

The idea is, that we all make a delicious cup of tea, or bring a bar of chocolate/or cake/or snack of choice to nibble on, put on our favourite Sunday Soiree outfits – I’m thinking leopard print + hot pink PJs - + show up ready for Source-ery!

I cannot wait 'til Sunday 4th - don’t forget to circle it in your diary now + you’ll receive Lisa mail a week before we gather with all the deets you’ll need to join live!
